Winner of the Consumer Electronic Show’s Innovation Award, this is the iPad case that allows full use of the tablet in up to 6 1/2′ of water. The case earned the most rigorous Ingress Protection Rating of 68, preventing penetration from water when submerged for 30 minutes and circulating dust for 8 hours. It meets the U.S. military’s drop survivability specifications by withstanding falls from 4′, thanks to its durable construction. Despite the rigorous protection, the case does not actually cover the iPad’s screen – it hermetically seals to the edges of the iPad’s face to keep out sand, snow, or mud to provide a traditional, unencumbered use of the touchscreen. The case does not impact sound from the iPad, a cover over the charging port opens for access when not submerged, and the front and back cameras, home button, and volume are all readily accessible.
